A simple calculator with which you can calculate download time for a file depending on download speed. How long time it will take depends on file size, your own download speed and the server's upload speed. In these calculations it is assumed that your download speed is the bottleneck. Input the file size and click on "Calculate".

Jul 14, 2017 · The speed of a network is denoted using a bit-per-second notation. Originally, networks were so slow that their speed was measured in just bits, but as network speeds increased, we started measuring internet speed in kilobits per second (remember 56k modems? That meant 56 kilobits per second), and now, megabits per second. Nov 09, 2015 · If anyone else is having very slow download speeds. Disable IPv6 in windows. I found an old EFT Post from 2017 that gave this suggestion. It worked for me. Went from 2MB to 4MB, results seem to vary. Side note, its not because of the server load that is causing slow download speed. 2 Mbps is ok to browse the net, but not good if you do not want to wait. Given a 2 mbps connection, your actual download speed will be further capped by server/specific site even ISP itself etc You are not guaranteed a stable 2mbps remember. Go with 4 mbps (if no monetary constraint) if not higher. Mar 03, 2005 · So looking at the main news it looks my line is getting upgraded to 2MB on the 14th :) Average download speed of about 750. Firefox is reporting a download speed of 1.2MB/sec. With the Speedtest site reporting a DL of 9.86 Mbps. One of the reasons I'm surprised it is 1.2MBs is because I was getting that speed with my 3 mifi device at night, which I thought could only do 4Mbps at most.

Theoretical speed. The speeds shown by download time calculator is purely theoretical. We try to simulate the real world scenario as much as possible, but It is not always possible to have the same speed over a continous period of time. However, your download speed isn't the only factor that will affect your online gaming experience, you'll need a decent upload speed and a ping rate of less than 150 ms (milliseconds). For this comparison table, we have used the average download speeds of 30Mbit/s (4G LTE Cat6), 4Mbit/s (3G HSPA+) and 0.1Mbit/s (2G EDGE). Typical file sizes used in our calculations: 2MB for a webpage, 10KB for a basic e-mail, 2MB for a high-quality photograph, 5MB for a music track and 30MB for a typical application download.

It went from around 2-3MB/s up to as high as 82MB/s and continued that high as long as I continuously kept re-running the upload speed test.
